To combat the black-market sale of train tickets and ensure easier access for passengers, the district administration in Sylhet has announced stricter monitoring measures. Effective 12 October, it will be mandatory for passengers to match the names on their train tickets with their National Identity (NID) cards. Authorities have confirmed that these rigorous checks will continue alongside regular railway operations.
