Government fast-tracks 6,000 tax cases to recover Tk35,000 crore
The government is accelerating the resolution of approximately 6,000 pending tax cases in the High Court and Appellate Divisions to recover Tk35,000 crore in revenue.

Official data available through April 2026 indicates that nearly 6,000 revenue-related cases and appeals are currently pending across the High Court and Appellate Divisions. Some of these legal disputes have remained unresolved for decades. Authorities are now fast-tracking these cases with the objective of recovering Tk35,000 crore in outstanding revenue.
