The government has officially approved the procurement of an LNG cargo to mitigate the current gas supply crisis. The shipment, sourced from Singapore-based Vitol Asia, is priced at $22.35 per MMBtu and is scheduled for delivery in mid-August.
This decision follows the operational outage of the Moheshkhali floating LNG terminal, which significantly disrupted gas distribution. Authorities expect this additional supply to help alleviate the shortage and stabilize the situation.
