The Bangladesh Freight Forwarders Association (BAFFA) has urged the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to prohibit fully foreign-owned firms from operating within the freight forwarding industry. The association argues that local participation is essential to safeguard domestic entrepreneurs.
Conversely, officials from the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority have expressed support for increasing foreign participation in the sector.
