The University Grants Commission (UGC) is moving forward with a plan to establish language centres across 30 universities. This initiative aims to provide students with the opportunity to learn foreign languages in addition to Bangla and English. Currently, 10 universities already host such centres, and the commission intends to roll out the remaining 20 centres in phases. The programme will place a particular priority on the Chinese language.
