The government has moved to reduce the costs of the MRT 1 and 5 projects by Tk4,800 crore. These projects, which commenced implementation in 2019, had an initial estimated budget of Tk93,799.98 crore. Furthermore, a committee has been established to explore additional avenues for cost reduction.
