The cabinet committee on government purchase has recommended the procurement of 10,000 tonnes of sugar. Under the initial proposal, 5,000 tonnes of sugar will be purchased in 50 kg sacks at a total cost of Tk51.475 crore, which includes all applicable VAT and taxes. The procurement price has been fixed at Tk102.95 per kilogram.
